License agreement

The same agreement ships inside Haris and its installer.

HARIS END USER LICENSE AGREEMENT

Haris is made by Bahden ("we"). By installing or using Haris, you agree to
these terms. If you don't agree, don't install or use it.

1. LICENSE
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install
and use Haris on Macs you own or control. Haris is licensed, not sold; we keep
all rights not expressly granted here.

2. WHAT YOU MAY NOT DO
You may not resell, rent, lend, redistribute or sublicense Haris; share a
license key with others or publish it; remove or bypass its license checks;
or copy, modify, decompile or reverse engineer it, except where the law
allows this despite this restriction.

3. YOUR DATA
Haris reads your Mac's own readings (battery, temperature, memory, disk and
similar) and keeps its settings and history on this Mac only. We don't
collect or receive them.
The optional AI Assistant uses your own Anthropic API key, stored in your
Mac's Keychain. When you ask it something, your questions and the earlier
messages of that conversation are sent to Anthropic, together with only the
information you have consented to share: file and folder names, sizes and
dates in the folders you choose, and a system summary. Haris never reads or
attaches the contents of your files itself; anything you type or paste into
a question is sent as written. Conversations are saved on this Mac, and
Anthropic's own terms and privacy policy apply to what it receives. Its
usage is billed to your Anthropic account.

Haris Pro is unlocked with a license key bought through Polar (polar.sh),
which sells Haris for us. To activate a key, Haris sends Polar the key, our
seller ID and the fixed name "Haris". To check the key about once a month,
or to move it, Haris sends the key, our seller ID and the activation ID that
Polar gave when the key was activated. Haris sends nothing about you or your
Mac, such as its name or serial number. A key works on one Mac at a time: to
use it on another Mac, choose Move license in Settings first.

To find updates, Haris checks haris.bysamra.com about once a day. Each check
is an ordinary web request, like any visit to a website, that also tells the
site Haris's name and version and the version of Sparkle, the update component
Haris uses. It sends none of your files and nothing about your Mac's hardware.
A new version is downloaded and installed only when you click Install, and
only if it carries our signature. You can turn the daily check off with
"Check for updates automatically" in the Startup card in Settings, and use
Check for Updates instead.

4. MOVE TO TRASH
Haris never deletes anything permanently. When you allow it, it moves items
you review to the macOS Trash; emptying the Trash is your own action. Check
what you move, and keep backups of anything important.

5. UPDATES AND SUPPORT
We may offer updates, which may change or remove features. Support is
provided at our discretion.

6. NO WARRANTY
Haris is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE", without warranties of any
kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a
particular purpose and non-infringement. Readings such as temperatures, fan
speeds and battery health come from macOS and the hardware and may be
inaccurate or unavailable.

7. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for any indirect,
incidental, special or consequential damages, or for any loss of data,
profits or business, arising from your use of Haris. Our total liability is
limited to the amount you paid for Haris, if anything.

8. TERMINATION
This license ends automatically if you break these terms. You must then
stop using Haris and remove it.

9. GENERAL
If any part of this agreement can't be enforced, the rest still applies.
This agreement is the whole agreement between you and us about Haris.
